Ottawa’s Canadian Showtime Chorus to compete at International contest in New Orleans

September 5, 2019 Ottawa

Canadian Showtime Chorus (CSC), Ottawa's internationally-ranked a cappella songbirds, heads to New Orleans for the 8th consecutive time this September, to represent Ottawa and the Ontario region at the annual Sweet Adelines International competition. You can watch here!

The 80 woman-strong chorus will sing their way to their best finish yet on the International stage against  powerhouse barbershop choruses from several other countries around the world, including Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, and the United States.

Under the leadership of new chorus Director, Joe Connelly, the chorus has spent the last year diligently working on learning new material, rehearsing, and perfecting their four-part harmony skills. Connelly, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, is the most decorated male barbershop quartet singer in the world with four individual gold medals. It’s now time to make Ottawa (and Canada!) proud at the first international contest with Connelly at the Canadian Showtime Chorus helm.

Canadian Showtime Chorus, with a 37-year barbershop history in Ottawa, is a chartered member of Sweet Adelines International, an organization of nearly 21,000 female singers that spans the globe. As a member, CSC is dedicated to preserving the unique sound of a cappella barbershop harmony, and sharing their passion for music while empowering women in every area of their lives.
